Operations Administrator, Commercial Real Estate · Edmonton

LIKE BEING THE PERSON WHO KEEPS EVERYTHING MOVING? THIS ONE MIGHT HAVE YOUR NAME ON IT.

Some people love a clearly defined job description, a predictable day and a tidy list of responsibilities. Others like a blend and love being right in the middle of things. They enjoy the pace, the people, the problem-solving and the satisfaction of making an entire operation run better.

If you’re the second kind of person, keep reading.

My client is a privately held, vertically integrated commercial real estate company with an established presence in the Edmonton market, a strong reputation and a refreshingly people-focused approach to doing business. They’re looking for an Operations Administrator who brings more than administrative skills to the table. They want someone with energy, curiosity, initiative and a genuine desire to become an important part of their business.

This is an opportunity to learn, contribute, grow your earning potential and have a whole lot of work joy along the way.

THE OPPORTUNITY | BE AT THE CENTRE OF IT ALL

You’ll report directly to the Executive Team, but your relationships and contributions will extend throughout this boutique organization. Think of yourself as one of the people who keeps the wheels turning, the details moving and the right people connected. Your days will be varied, and that’s part of the appeal.

You’ll have your hands in:

Business Operations & Administration: Supporting leadership and the broader team with day-to-day coordination, documentation, scheduling, follow-up and whatever else helps keep the business moving.

Leasing, Acquisitions & Commercial Real Estate: Assisting with leasing administration, documentation, correspondence, coordination and related operational requirements.

Legal & Corporate Documentation: Helping coordinate agreements, records, documentation and administrative matters involving legal professionals and other stakeholders.

Marketing, Brand & Communications: Supporting internal and external communications, marketing initiatives, brand-related activities and potentially social media.

Events, Sponsorships & Community Engagement: Taking ownership of coordinating company events, social activities, sponsorship commitments and initiatives that strengthen relationships and company culture.

Process & Operational Improvement: Identifying opportunities to simplify workflows, improve efficiencies, introduce better systems and make everyone’s working day a little easier.

And because this is a dynamic, vertically integrated business, there will always be opportunities to learn something new. You won’t be expected to know everything. You will be expected to want to learn.

WHO YOU ARE | CAPABLE, CURIOUS & FULL OF GET-UP-AND-GO

You’re organized, detail-oriented and accountable. But that’s only part of what makes you good at what you do. You’re also personable, positive, resourceful and comfortable taking initiative. You don’t need someone telling you what to do every minute of the day. You can see what needs attention, ask the right questions, find answers and move things forward. You bring a healthy balance of confidence and humility. You’re comfortable saying, “I don’t know, but I’ll find out,” and just as comfortable suggesting, “I think there’s a better way to do this.”

We’d love to meet you if:

You have a couple of years of relevant administrative, operational, customer service or business support experience, ideally with exposure to commercial real estate or a similarly fast-moving professional environment.

You’re a strong communicator who genuinely enjoys working with people at every level.

You’re highly organized, attentive to detail and able to manage competing priorities without losing your sense of humour.

You take ownership of your work, follow through and understand that accountability builds trust.

You’re self-directed, motivated and energized by having a meaningful role in a busy operation.

You’re naturally curious, comfortable asking questions and resourceful when seeking answers.

You enjoy generating ideas and have the confidence to recommend and implement more effective ways of doing things.

You’re comfortable with technology and software and are interested in using it to make work more efficient. An understanding of social media and digital communications would be an added bonus.

You’re genuine, grounded and bring positive energy to the people around you.

Commercial real estate experience would be an asset, but attitude, aptitude and alignment matter just as much.

THE COMPANY | GOOD BUSINESS. GOOD PEOPLE. GOOD ENERGY.

My client has built a successful business around much more than real estate transactions and financial results. They’re vertically integrated, highly engaged with their clients and intentional about the reputation they’ve earned. They take pride in being accessible, responsive and delivering a high-touch experience.

Internally, they’re equally intentional. They operate with an accountability model that encourages ownership, collaboration and trust. People are expected to contribute, support one another and take pride in what they do. And here’s something I particularly appreciate about this opportunity: They don’t measure success by profitability alone. They also believe people should be happy doing the work. That means a workplace where your ideas matter, your contributions are recognized and professional growth is encouraged.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

This opportunity could be particularly appealing if you’re early in your career and hungry to build your skills, or if you already have solid experience but want a more authentic, engaging and rewarding place to contribute.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

Meaningful Career Progression: Exposure to multiple areas of commercial real estate, direct interaction with senior leadership and genuine opportunity to expand your responsibilities.

Earning Potential That Grows With You: Compensation is reviewed on an ongoing basis, with growth tied to your development, performance and contribution to the operation.

Benefits From Day One: Employee benefits are provided upon commencement.

Flexibility That Recognizes You Have a Life: This in-office role offers flexibility in establishing your office schedule while ensuring the operational needs of the business are met.

An Accessible Leadership Team: You’ll work closely with the Executive Team, gaining exposure, mentorship and insight into how the business operates.

A Workplace That Values Work Joy: A collaborative, high-accountability environment where people, relationships and a positive working experience genuinely matter.

The office is conveniently located on Edmonton’s south side.

A FINAL THOUGHT

Sometimes what makes someone exceptional is their willingness to jump in, figure things out, care about the details and genuinely enjoy being part of something. If you’re someone who likes the hustle of commercial real estate, takes pride in being counted on and wants to build a career rather than simply hold a job, I’d love to hear from you.

The right talent changes everything. And the right company can change everything for you, too.
