Director, Business Development, Western Canada (Edmonton, Alberta)

Our client, a highly successful leader of specialized construction products and engineered services in the industrial, heavy and commercial construction arena, is in search of a Director, Business Development Western Canada (Edmonton, Alberta). Your new company boasts a robust reputation for developing and delivering quality engineered products and services.  Reporting to the President/Owner, your new job will allow you to apply your business development leadership prowess to further penetrate the market, developing new business opportunities whilst also overseeing a small team of like-minded professionals.  Your advanced knowledge of the diverse construction market in Western Canada, deep understanding of contracts management and desire to “hunt” new opportunities and manage existing accounts whilst acting a leader,  will set you up well for very real C-level successive moves and profit sharing.

REQUIREMENTS   You have proven and consistent success patterns in developing and executing strategic revenue producing initiatives with past employers, including leading a team, introducing new business and generating ongoing sales of technically minded construction products and engineering services. You are experienced developing business with Contractors and Engineering Consultants firms within the industrial, heavy and commercial construction arenas.  Your detailed capacity for managing RFPs/Bid processes and construction contracts is exemplary. You possess a minimum of 10 years sales and business development experience within the industrial constructions products arena, ideally with a Professional Engineering Designation.  (Considerations will be given to candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing and/or related field who possess a strong technical and project management comprehension.)  Your enhanced and confident communication dexterities have lent themselves well when presenting, developing written material, training, mentoring and coaching. Lastly, you have a solid brand and reputation for walking the talk.
