Our client, an exclusive and internationally distributed specialty food manufacturer, is experiencing exponential growth and is need of your bench strengths and talents as their new REGULATORY SPECIALIST (Edmonton, Alberta). As such, you will be responsible for the coordination and administration functions associated with the regulatory requirements that will ensure open borders and on-time arrival occurs with our client’s products. In this position, you will act as the primary contact for day-to-day export functions where you maintain accurate and complete records and regulatory documentation. As the Regulatory Specialist, you are responsible for developing and demonstrating a high level of current knowledge regarding international trade compliance regulations and export control policies and procedures.
In your new role you will determine, develop and prepare complete, accurate and timely records and requests. Having an eye for detail and demonstrating acute organizational skills, you manage registration renewals applications with ease, ensuring all data and documentation is compliant and within all relevant regulatory requirements.
You will act as an advisor on regulatory issues that may affect your company’s business and supply chain decisions, providing up-to-date information and advice related to customs requirements, CFIA issues, health certifications for trans loads or source loads. Beyond this, you will develop solutions for the various challenges that commonly occur in international transport and distribution. In saying so, you quickly identify, develop and offer recommendations in order to mitigate risk, meet customer expectations and add to the bottom line.
Your exposure in this industry has allowed you to exercise your well developed interpersonal communications skills. As such, you develop and sustain working relationships with government agencies, customs brokers and logistics companies. Your past successes have included project delivery, creating consensus or buy-in, managing change and growth, and working collaboratively with individuals and teams to achieve your company goals. You have become an expert in pro-active decision making and have the capacity to own and manage your commitments effectively. Beyond this, you also possess strong competencies in juggling multiple priorities along with being a self-assured presenter and facilitator.
Your post secondary education and 3-5 years related experience will provide you a strong foundation to further develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant industry-related regulatory issues. Your high level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principle and facts will complement your ability to plan, prioritize and execute, allowing you to create success and garner progressive career moves.
